Connecting a phone number

Link a number from your own Twilio account and choose which assistant answers it.

Voice agents answer on a number in your own Twilio account, so calls, numbers and recordings stay in an account you control.

  1. 1Open Phone Numbers and enter your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token.
  2. 2Enter the number in international format, for example +14155550123.
  3. 3Choose the assistant that should answer it. Each number is answered by one assistant.
  4. 4Save. We set the number's incoming-call settings in Twilio for you and show whether it worked.

Once connected, the same number can also be used for outbound calls, where the assistant rings a customer from your number.

Heads up
If saving fails, check the Account SID and Auth Token, and that the number belongs to that Twilio account. A number that is not linked to an assistant will not be answered.
